I don't see this tool anywhere (p. 10). I had previously posted and then deleted a topic about this because I thought it had been replaced by the quick selection tool. However, further along in the book you discuss the quick selection tool. Anyway, the MSBT was in in PE5, but I don't see it in v. 6.

Hi Norbert,

I don't currently have access to version 6 but I'm pretty sure the MSB is still in the same place. You can access it either from the Toolbox: an extension of the Selection Brush or, from the Selection Brush options to the left of the brush size indicator.

Nothing like that in v.6 that I can see. I can post screen shots. How do I do that?

The forum's image upload is not working at present, I had to upload that screenshot manually.

Do you not have the MSB tool if you click and hold the Selection Brush icon in the toolbox?

OK, thanks. We'll have to revise this as it may have been written prior to receiving V6, it was certainly available in V5.

I read somewhere else that the Quick Selection Tool was a replacement for the MSB. If it's any consolation, the PE6 help file still makes reference to the MSB in its documentation. At least you know someone is hanging on your every word. Shocked

Time for an errata page.

You're absolutely right, I've just checked and it has been removed; although, as you said, it's still referenced in the help files.

We do need to keep it in the book, of course, as it covers the different versions but we'll need to make it clearer that it's been replaced by the Quick Selection tool in V6.
